HSeT Foundation

The Health Sciences eTraining Foundation (HSeT), created on November 30, 2006, is a non-profit organization dedicated to web-based teaching and learning.

The HSeT Foundation is grateful for the support of its partners and sponsors.

The HSeT Foundation is governed by articles 80 and seq. of the Swiss Civil Code and registered in the Trade Register of the Canton de Vaud, Switzerland. The legal seat of the Foundation shall be in Lausanne (VD), Switzerland. The HSeT Foundation has its origin in the Swiss Virtual Campus program sponsored by the Swiss Government and the Swiss Universities.

Organizational aims

• To develop web-based training programs in the health sciences.
• To create eLearning opportunities that support innovative face-to-face workshops in industrialized and developing world settings.
• To promote cooperation among national and international organizations committed to building global public health capacity through training.

eLearning Core Team

The eLearning core team draws on many years of experience in the biomedical sciences, teaching, web design, and Internet-based distance learning. It has expertise in creating multimedia content and in tailoring pedagogical approaches for a variety of audiences.

Guilherme MARSON, PhD, Oncology Online coordinator

Guilherme Marson was trained as an organic chemist. In 1999, he shifted his interest towards the development of educational software. In 2003 he obtained a PhD at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) on biochemistry education. This work yielded instructional software on chromatography, protein structure, and molecular biology, the former developed in collaboration with Donald Voet (University of Pennsylvania). He received two awards in 2004 and 2005 from the Brazilian minister of education. He is also serving as a referee for the science education community and he is participating in pedagogical training on the development and the application of technology in education.Guilherme Marson returned to Brazil on August 2008 but continues to work for HSeT as a consultant.

Alain MEYSTRE, Animation Designer

Alain Meystre was trained as a silk screener. He worked in companies as industrial designer. In 2005 he joined the HSeT eLearning team as a Animation Designer in charge of 2D and 3D animations.
